Diamond Shoals in S Nags Head

Diamond Shoals Condos, located at approximately MP 17 in South Nags Head (just south of Jeannette's Pier) are spacious, oceanfront condos that were originally built in 1986.  All the units are 3 bedroom and 2 bath and have square footage that exceeds 1800 SF, some of the largest condos on the Outer Banks.  There are two main floor plans to choose from, our favorite of which has the Master Bedroom overlooking the ocean.  While older, these units can be fantastic when updated with new kitchens and baths.  You'll be best served going with a unit on the second or third floor, which will allow you spectacular views of the ocean.  Unfortunately the first floor units, while still very nice, allow little privacy since the balconies sit on the ground next to the walkway and generally speaking, stare directly at the dune!  Amenities include pool, elevator and easy access to the ocean.  One noteworthy point:  before the beach nourishment, Diamond Shoals invested a significant amount of money in sand bags to protect the community.  Those bags remained after the beach nourishment...under the current dune structure, which makes their particular dune something of a fortress!
