Corolla is located in the northern most part of the Outer Banks in Currituck County, and boasts some of the largest natural beaches in the Outer Banks. The wild horses still roam the northern most part of Corolla, in the unpaved areas north of the Villages at Ocean Hill. Corolla is less commercialized than the primary beaches of Nags Head, Kill Devil Hills and Kitty Hawk, and makes a wonderful family or friend get-away. It is comprised mainly of second homes and vacation properties, although a handful of Outer Banks residents choose to live here year-round. If you're looking for an area for a laid back community, with large dunes and large beaches, and less commercial activity, Corolla is a great choice for you.
