Corolla

Dogs are easy in Corolla!  Yes, you need a leash but there are no required length restrictions.

Duck

Leash law requires a leash not to exceed ten (10) feet in length.  However, Fido can play unleashed on the beach under your close supervision!

Southern Shores

Unfortunately, Fido is not welcome on the beaches of this community from May 15 to September 15.  However, the rest of the year you are welcome to bring him using a leash not to exceed ten (10) feet in length.

Kitty Hawk

From Memorial Day to Labor Day, dogs are allowed on a leash not to exceed 6 ft. in length between the hours of 10 am and 6 pm.  At all other times the leash may be extended, but must be retractable to 12 ft.  Well-trained dogs may be unleashed under close supervision of the owner, but not to exceed 50 ft. in distance between owner and dog.  PHEW!

Dogs are permitted on the beaches of Kill Devil Hills during the off-season and after peak hours.  Between May 15 - September 15 no dogs are allowed on the beach from 9 am to 6 pm unless the dog is aiding a handicapped person.

Nags Head
